Brian has called the Sarasota area home for over 35 years.
After attending Northwestern University he returned to
start a family with his beautiful wife Kate and now have
their two children Laura and Daniel. After a career in
the financial industry, Brian decided to join Kate at the
Hodgell Gallery in the early 90's. He has given back to
the community through his involvement in the Palm Avenue
Merchant Association, board member of the Sarasota Season
of Sculpture and other charitable interests. But the most
visible has been their work with the Hodgell gallery that
has given talented artisans a place to display and share
their amazing pieces with residents and connoisseurs.
Brian uncovered another artisan and clinician when he
chose Dr. Charles Crane to restore his smile.
"In terms of my new smile," says
Brian, "I equate it to being confident in what I am
presenting to the world." When Brian has to speak
publicly he describes the confidence that is attained by
thorough research and understanding of a topic. "The
same applies with my smile," exudes Brian, "I
have a new element of confidence, whether in sales or social
situations. I am very grateful to Dr. Crane for his extraordinary
talents; he is truly gifted in what he does."
Excerpt of Kate O'Connell's email:
...By the way, I am especially grateful for how comfortable
Brian is with smiling now. His smile lights up his eyes
and lightens his heart. Before it was always held back
to hide his too small and broken teeth. Just imagine
he suffered from that since childhood. What a precious
gift you give in your work!
